Boiler Automation

Over the years, SMEC has been attending the Complicated proprietary Boiler Control Systems from few boiler makers for various owners, mostly in emergency situations even upto where vessel expelled from berth etc because of boiler non‐ performance, as they couldn’t fire the boilers even in emergency mode.

24 V DC Battery Charger

The SMEC Designed Battery Charger is specifically designed to cater for the requirements in marine environment and supports the emergency power requirements arising for specifically for control supplies which may hinder the operational capability of the vessel. It also can be used as a support system in case of similar requirements.
The battery charger is a full-automatic high efficiency battery charger/rectifier which features a family of advanced quality battery chargers. This not only charges batteries rapidly and safely also can be used as a rectifier to provide rated supply online to the connected consumers. In addition, the Charger is secured against short circuit, overload and high temperatures in marine environment

Main Engine Control System

Main engine control system’s behavior is first observed carefully to locate the problem then the fault is identified and rectified. System consists of electro mechanical and digital controls for start, stop, speed control, shut down, slow-down, safety, and alarm systems are repaired and tested.

Generator Controllers

Generator controllers provide comprehensive generator protection and control for single or multiple gen-sets based on field proven technologies. The primary function of Generator controler is to manage and protect the generator in preference to the engine, which is not a direct concern. GC can be used in applications where engine management or protection is not required or in cases where the generator is powered by another source such as a turbine controlled by an external PLC. The controller is suitable for use in LandBased and Marine applications.

Rig Electrical, Automation & Jackup services

SMEC Automation has extensive experience in automating and mechanizing drilling and workover rigs. These automated and semi-automated drilling systems have been built for the Norwegian sector of the North Sea, Arctic rigs on the north slope of Alaska, desert rigs in Oman, slant drilling rigs in China and mobile trailer rigs in Brazil. These systems integrate in-house equipment and client-furnished equipment for a total automation package.

Lub Oil Temp Control & Monitoring System

An advanced PLC based control and monitoring system which works on the
principle of PID function to control the LUB Oil temperature by means of controlling the flow of cooling water into the system. This system consists of a main panel enclosed in a rugged enclo-sure as per the military standard with sufficient packing and required shock mounts to resist the adverse conditions at sea.

Salinity Monitoring System

The system is specially designed for distillation plant operation on board ships which senses the salinity content present in water as small unit as PPT (Parts Per Trillion), which itself speaks for its best quality among the other salinity

The SMEC designed distillation plant dumping valve control system is powered by new and advanced salinity indicator.
